As you probably know by now, Rays manager Joe Maddon (henceforth to be referred to as simply M'Ddon, which is his fashion designer name I just invented) enlisted local designer Julia Alarcon to help come up with the monumentally tacky blue plaid garment known as "The BRayser" to be worn by the team while traveling on their current road trip out west.
"The BRaysers are in, they’re fabulous, they met with everybody’s approval." -- M'Ddon
Well, not exactly everybody, skip.
Radio talk show host Steve "The Big Dog" Duemig of 620, WDAE-AM doesn't care for them. At all. Actually, he doesn't seem to care for much of anything Joe Maddon does but has reserved some of his harshest, unbridled vitriol for The Brayser, calling it ridiculous, hideous and embarrassing.
Well...yeah.
M'Ddon openly cited cutural icons Herb Tarlek and Ted Baxter as inspirations. I'm pretty sure "ridiculous" and "hideous" were kinda what they were going for.
Of course, it should be noted that Mr. Duemig, in addition to hosting a radio show, is widely known to be an exceptionally proficient golfer, which means it's entirely possible that he owns a pair of bright green pants with little blue whales embroidered on them, so what does he know about high fashion anyway?
