Rays Just Half Game Back

Some days, everything goes your way. First, the Rays took care of their own business at hand, beating the Toronto Blue Jays 13-1. Then they got all the right kinds of help: Kansas City beat Chicago 8-2, Oakland edged Boston 4-3 and Texas rallied in the bottom of the 9th to beat New York 9-8. As a result, the Rays are now just a half game behind New York and could be in first place at the end of today.

MAGIC NUMBERS:

Rays: Wild Card = 13, Division = 22

Yankees: Wild Card = 12, Division = 21
