Rays Back On Top

Boy, you sure couldn’t tell Monday wasn’t a playoff game. Starting pitchers David Price and CC Sabbathia went toe-to-toe and didn’t give an inch. It took an 11th inning homer from Reid Brignac to get a runner past third as the Rays came out on top, 1-0. As a result, the Rays and Yankees swap spots in the AL East standings.
Boston beat Seattle 5-1 to move a half game ahead of the idle White Sox for third in the Wildcard race.

MAGIC NUMBERS:

Rays: Wild Card = 12, Division = 19

Yankees: Wild Card = 12, Division = 20
