When you win three Super Bowls and are married to a supermodel, just about everything you do gets noticed. When you’re a young quarterback in a small market that hasn’t accomplished much of anything (yet) at the NFL level, not as many eyes are on you. As it so happens, Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman was in an automobile accident last week as well. The attention was on Freeman’s thumb heading into the game, and thankfully the accident didn’t injure Freeman further than he already was.
Offensive coordinator Greg Olsen was impressed by how Freeman’s performance:
“It was just a real gutsy performance by Josh Freeman,” Olson said. "It was a clean break (of the thumb) but it was a break nonetheless and he wasn’t healthy, but he came out and played with pain.
“And then on top of it, I get a call saying he was involved in something on Friday afternoon, an accident, and so I just think it was a real gutsy performance by him.”
