Another Big Crowd

Yesterday, lightning officials expected a crowd of between 400-600 people. While no official count was available, it was pretty obvious that number was exceeded. One team official said it was closer to 1,000, maybe 1,200, based on a car count. That’s a good sign for a franchise that is coming off a long stretch of bad hockey and public relations mishaps stemming from myriad mistakes made by the previous ownership. This morning there was a long line to get in and it looks like there might be even more people here today. That’s pretty remarkable, considering that it’s Sunday and the popularity of football. Unlike yesterday, the standing areas behind the goals on the east end of the building have been opened up. That was a suggestion made yesterday by none other than former team captain Dave Andreychuk.
