Game Preview: Tampa Bay Lightning Welcome Winnipeg Jets To Southeast Cellar

The Tampa Bay Lightning are looking to make it twelve straight wins over the Winnipeg Jets, formerly known as the Atlanta Thrashers.

The Tampa Bay Lighting and the Winnipeg Jets will battle it out to try to remain out of the cellar of the Southeast division. The Lightning will be looking to extend the nation's longest active winning streak over a single team tonight, as they look to make it 12 in a row over the Jets (formally the Atlanta Thrashers).

Steven Stamkos has been the best threat for Tampa Bay offensively during the winning streak, scoring 13 goals and 7 assists against the Jets. Vincent Lecavalier had 4 goals and 3 assists in last season's sweep. The goalie for the Lightning tonight is still up in the air as Mathieu Garon struggled against Nashville, stopping just 12 of the 17 shots. He was replaced by Dwayne Roloson, who stopped all 10 shots he saw.

Winnipeg is coming off a wild 9-8 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday and will be looking to carry that momentum to snap the Lightning's winning streak over the Jets. "We have some things to feel good about," coach Claude Noel said. "The nine goals and the win, but you can't play this way." The Jets defense is going to have to improve though, despite scoring 9 goals on Thursday they still gave up 8.
