E.J. Manuel Returns, May Save The Day

#23 Florida State is trailing Wake Forest, who is undefeated in the ACC, 16-14 at the half. FSU has not had their game face on, that or they are trying lot’s of new ideas.

The Seminoles started with freshman Clint Trickett (6-for-11, 29 yards, 2 int) at quarterback and ran the football as much as possible, using nine backs for 95 yards. Lead rusher Chris Thompson was injured early but Florida State is squeezing as much as they can out of the ground war, looking to find their feet.

Wake Forest, on the other hand, has tried every trick in the book to get down field, including a lateral to a running back who threw for a touchdown and eventually led 16-7.

E.J. Manuel, with a contraption on his sprained shoulder, then came into the game to save the day. His determination to play, lead and win is clear. He went 3-for-5, 77 yards, TD to freshman Rashad Greene and will return for the second half.

“We’ve got our spirits back up and we are back in this ball game,” said coach Jimbo Fisher. “What the worse that could happen to you has happened to you, so let’s get back in there”.
