Neither of the Tampa Bay area teams are playing their best football right now, and that is reflected in their respective positions in SB Nation's Week 11 version of their 2011 NFL Power Rankings. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, coming off a pretty ugly loss to the Houston Texans over the weekend, fell to spots to No. 17.
When you've lost three in a row, and you were just blown out, the worst news you can hear is that you have to travel to Green Bay.
True that. What started off as a season marked with inconsistencies has turned into a disappointment for the Buccaneers, and as they point out, it probably isn't going to get much better next weekend. As for the Jaguars, they beat the Colts this weekend, but the Colts are 0-10 so that win doesn't mean a lot. They are still ranked 26th, actually down a spot from last week despite the win, oddly enough.
This year is about making Blaine Gabbert comfortable. Stringing together some wins to end the season would go a long way to helping him.
This is the definition of a rebuilding year for the Jaguars. Wins are secondary to the improvement of their quarterback. If they can accomplish that, it has to be viewed as a win, at least on some scale.
