After quite possibly their biggest win of this young season on Thursday night, the Tampa Bay Lightning head into the weekend with an opportunity to take the points lead in the Southeast Division. The Lightning host the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night at the St. Pete Times Forum. The Devils will make their first of two trips to Florida in less than month. They are coming off a win over the Buffalo Sabres, a game in which they welcomed back All Star scoring machine Ilya Kovalchuk. He made his presence felt immediately, scoring a power play goal in the Devils 5-3 win.
The Lightning enter the weekend after an impressive 4-1 win over Eastern Conference leading Pittsburgh. The Bolts capitalized on the power play chances against the Pens, and were bolstered by two goals from captain Vincent Lecavalier.
The puck will drop at 7:00 PM on Saturday. The game will be broadcast locally on CW44.
