The USF Bulls (4-2) dominated from the opening tip-off as they cruised past the Georgia Southern Eagles (1-3) 66-46. Ron Anderson Jr. led all scorers with 17 points on 7-8 shooting to lead a balanced scoring attack. Blake Nash and Victor Rudd each had 9 points while Shaun Noriega and LaVonte Dority each had 8 points a piece for the Bulls. Willie Powers III had 14 points to lead all Eagles in scoring while Eric Ferguson had 10 points off the bench.
The USF offense did whatever they wanted to do all night inside, shooting a season high 61% from the field tonight while going 5-17 from behind the arc. Conversly, GSU had trouble scoring from anywhere, shooting only 36% from the field while going 4-19 from deep. Georgia Southern's 2nd leading scorer Jelani Hawkins had a rough night, shooting 1-11 from the field for only 3 points.
Anthony Collins had a solid debut for the Bulls, scoring 4 points while dishing out 6 assists and 2 steals in 21 minutes of play. Collins ran the offense really well in his time on the court which allowed Nash to play a little off guard tonight which kept the minutes low for the rest of the guards on the roster.
USF will next take on FAU this Saturday at the University of Tampa's Bob Martinez Center this Saturday at 7:00 PM
