The Jacksonville Jaguars have had a very bizarre day on Tuesday. First they fired head coach Jack Del Rio, and now it appears as if Wayne Weaver is set to sell the team, according to Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter.
Jaguars are being sold, set to remain in Jacksonville, per @AdamSchefter and myself.
The big bit of news in that update is that the team will be staying in Jacksonville, which was always something that was up in the air when rumors of an ownership change were floated earlier. This is obviously a big win for the city of Jacksonville and the fans that have supported the team during their time there.
According to a Tania Ganguli, it will be Shahid Kahn, not the rumored Fred Smith, that will be buying the team.
Shahid Kahn, not Fred Smith is buying the #Jaguars.
And here is a little bit more information on Kahn.
Khan was born in Pakistan, owns a company called Flex-N-Gate, was in play to buy the Rams.
We'll have plenty more on this and all of the other happenings in Jacksonville as the day plays out, but for more reaction and info, head over to Big Cat Country.
