Lightning vs. Flyers Scoreless After First Period

The first period of this game started rather strangely. The Philadelphia Flyers utilized a play, the four corners rule. This is when a team’s defense remains in their own zone, which is an attempt to slow the game down. The Flyers did this four times in the first period, and it was honestly ridiculous. Hey philly, you want to figure out Tampa Bay’s 1-3-1 system, handle the puck in the neutral zone, skate down the ice, and generate shots on Dwayne Roloson. Play hockey. Stop wasting time.

Other than that, there’s wasn’t much worth noting so far in this one. The Lightning have the edge in shots with seven and the Flyers have six. It’s a surprise there were even that many.
