NBA Free Agency: Orlando Magic Agree To Deal With Jason Richardson

The Orlando Magic will re-sign shooting guard Jason Richardson to a 4-year deal worth about $25 million, according to our very own Magic blog Orlando Pinstriped Post. Here is a little bit more info on Richardson.

Smith acquired Richardson's expiring contract from the Phoenix Suns last December. He started each of his 55 regular-season appearances for Orlando, averaging 13.9 points, four rebounds, and two assists per game. He shot 43.3 percent from the field overall and 38.4 percent on three-pointers. Though a capable outside shooter, Richardson struggles to create his own shot and draw fouls. Further, his shooting percentages, scoring, and rebounding declined after coming to Orlando despite his playing three more minutes per game on average.

With the threat of Dwight Howard leaving at basically any moment, it's important for the Magic to add as many players to the team as they can in the hope to quell him and make him happy for as long as possible.
