In what can only be described as a defensive battle, the Auburn Tigers lead the USF Bulls 21-20 at halftime. Augustus Gilchrist leads all scorers with 10 points while Varez Ward had 7 points and Chris Denson has 6 points respectively for the Tigers.
The Bulls got out to a quick 9-2 lead, but after that the Bulls became stagnant, scoring 11 points in the final 16 minutes. USF was sloppy with the ball, turning the ball over 7 times in the first 20 minutes. USF relied too much on the three point shot, and only hit 2-10 attempts.
Auburn were just as bad in their half court offense, but when the Tigers were able to push the ball in transition it led to some easy baskets as USF was unable to get into their defensive sets.
One can only hope this game becomes more exciting in the final twenty minutes.
