The Orlando Magic made their preseason debut against the Miami Heat, including the debut of Glen Davis as a member of the Magic. It wasn't a very good showing by Davis or the Magic overall, however. Davis played 32 minutes in the game, scoring just six points and picking up five rebounds. Star center Dwight Howard also had a rough night, scoring just six points and picking up six rebounds and three blocks. Overall, the Magic struggled shooting from the floor and behind the three-point line and failed to put up much of a fight.

The Miami Heat took a nine point lead into halftime, thanks to a 32 point second quarter. The Heat came out after the half with a dominant defensive third quarter, holding the Magic to just 15 points and putting up another 36 points in the final quarter. The Heat put their foot on the pedal before halftime and didn't look back. LeBron James led the way scoring for the Heat, picking up 19 points and six rebounds in just 26 minutes. The other two parts of the "Big Three" in Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade each picked up 14 points. The Heat also picked up 16 points from guard Terrel Harris off the bench in the 115-85 blowout.
