Lightning Schedule: Tampa Bay Kicks Off Slow Week Against Sharks

The Tampa Bay Lightning are on a little bit of a wins streak, can it survive their West Coast Trip?

The Tampa Bay Lightning have won two straight games, but it might be difficult to sustain any type of positive momentum over the course of a slow week that will only have them playing two games.

The first will be against the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday in a late starting game at 10:30 pm. The Sharks are just under .500 at 14-16-2, but they are a very balanced team that can cause a lot of problems for their opponents. They rank 11th in the NHL in goals per game at 2.8 and 8th in goals allowed per game at 2.4. They are probably a better team than their record indicates.

After that the Lightning will head to Colorado to take on the Avalanche, who are pretty much the opposite of the Sharks. They have a similar record at 15-17-1 but they are in the bottom third of the NHL in both goals per game and goals allowed per game. Unlike the Sharks, they might not be as good as their record shows.

We'll be covering all of these games throughout the week at SB Nation Tampa Bay, but for more on all things Lightning Hockey, head over to Raw Charge.
