Capital One Bowl 2012: Alshon Jeffery, D.J. Swearinger Miss Practice

South Carolina resumed its preparations for the Jan. 2 Capital One Bowl on Sunday without wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and safety D.J. Swearinger, both nursing injuries, according to Edward Ashchoff of ESPN's SEC Blog.

Jeffery, who has 45 receptions for 614 yards and seven touchdowns this season, is recovering from offseason surgery on his hand, while Swearinger has an injury to his foot. Ashchoff quotes Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier on their respective statuses.

"Alshon’s been out here spectating a little bit," coach Steve Spurrier said. "He’s been running with the guys. He could catch one-handed, but should be ready for the bowl game. D.J. has that foot that they’d like him to stay off of. Terrence Campbell is not practicing this week. Hopefully when we get to Orlando they can get in shape a little bit."
