Cleveland State Vs. South Florida: Bulls Improve To Perfect 7-0 At Home With Quality Non-Conference Win Over Cleveland State

The South Florida Bulls picked up a quality non-conference win over the Cleveland State Vikings on Monday night at the St. Pete Times Forum. The Bulls had four players in double figures to beat the Vikings by 15. Cleveland State plays in the competitive Horizon League, and was projected as a possibly tournament team, previously dominating a Missouri team that was ranked in the top ten in the country at the time.

Jawanza Poland, in his return to action after sitting out due to a back injury and a two game suspension, led the Bulls with 13 points. He was three of five from behind the arc, and added five boards. His return could be a huge boost for Stan Heath's club. The Bulls played lockdown defense on CSU's talented backcourt, and rode an 86% free throw shooting mark to improve to a perfect 7-0 at home.

They now travel to Hattiesburg to face an 8-2 Southern Miss team on Thursday night.
