Aquib Talib Injury Update: Cornerback Placed On Injured Reserve

What has been a very difficult season for Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib appears to have come to an end. The Buccaneers have placed the cornerback on injured reserve after a hamstring injury just refused to get better, according to Stephen Holder of the St. Petersburg Times.

Talib finally has succumbed to the hamstring injury that has slowed him throughout the second half of the season, the team placing him on injured reserve for the final two games of 2011. Talib has been either unable to play or has been very limited by the hamstring in the past three games. After being inactive last week at Jacksonville, Talib was able to play just half of the first quarter this past Saturday against the Cowboys before re-aggravating the injury.

Holder says that E.J. Biggers will now move into the starting lineup in Talib's place, but that he won't be able to really take on the same assignments that Talib was responsible for, because Talib would always match up with the best receiver on the other team.
