Rockets Vs. Magic Score Update: Dwight Howard Dominates Inside To Give Orlando A First Quarter Lead

After the first quarter of their home opener, the Orlando Magic lead the Houston Rockets 27-23 in a fast paced up-and-down first 12 minutes. Dwight Howard, coming off another quiet Christmas Day performance against the Thunder, dominated Houston on the interior and finished with 10 points. Orlando made a concerted effort to feed Howard in the post, and the All Star center finished five of six from the floor.

J.J. Redick came off the bench and gave Orlando a boost, hitting a quick three and chipping in five points. Redick was only one of two players to hit from downtown, as the Magic, after a cold shooting night last night, were just two of eight from behind the arc. They will look to build on their lead in the second quarter.
