The Clemson Tigers will face off against the West Virginia Mountaineers in the 2012 Orange Bowl this game, and the two teams figure to be pretty evenly matched. Both of these teams are not playing as well currently as they were in the beginning of the Season, but the oddsmakers think that Clemson is just a little bit better than the Mountaineers at this point, according to SB Nation.
Even though they lost three of their final five games, Clemson open as a 3 1/2 point favorite over WVU. Clemson likely would not have been favored against just about any other possible opponent, but WVU's two Big East losses give the Tigers the edge in the eyes of the oddsmakers.
Perhaps their last wins of the season helped shape that opinion. Clemson dispatched a highly ranked Virginia Tech team while West Virginia struggled against South Florida with their season on the line.
