The Miami Heat may be zeroing in on a future center. Eddy Curry has been invited to the Heat's training camp and is a target to sign when free agency opens up on Friday, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Curry shares an agent with Heat forward LeBron James and worked out with the team several times last season in pursuit of a job. If Curry signs, he will join Heat centers Joel Anthony and Dexter Pittman.
Curry has battled weight issues in his ten-year playing career. He played the bulk of the 2010-2011 season with the New York Knicks before being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves as part of a three-team deal that sent Carmelo anthony to New York. Curry's contract was bought out by the Timberwolves in March before he was able to play in uniform for the Minnesota team.
