Jeremy Hellickson, Rays Take On Marlins In Spring Training

The Rays take on the Marlins today in a Spring Training Florida Showdown, as Jeremy Hellickson is slated to start his first game of the spring. Hellickson will likely only pitch a few innings, as he's still behind in his preparations after missing a few weeks with a sore hamstring.

In other interesting news, Ben Zobrist will be leading off today. Joe Maddon is trying to get Zobrist accustomed to hitting at the top of the lineup, since it's likely that once the season gets going, Zobrist will be batting lead-off against right-handed pitchers instead of the slower John Jaso. Also, Matt Joyce gets another start against a left-handed pitcher. If Joyce proves he can hit left-handed pitchers early in this season, he may evolve into a full-time role by the end of the season.
