Rays Face Yankees Today In Spring Training Match-Up

The Rays are traveling to George Steinbrenner Field in Tampa today to take on the Yankees in the second spring training match-up between the two teams. Pitcher Chris Bootcheck gets the start for the Rays, while Phil Hughes is scheduled to pitch for the Yankees.

While Chris Bootcheck is an outside candidate for the Rays' long relief spot, the other pitchers scheduled to pitch for the Rays are all likely to pitch in the major league bullpen at some point this season. Adam Russell, Jake McGee, and Cesar Ramos are all favorites to earn spots in the major league 'pen, while Mike Ekstrom is competing with Rob Delaney and Cory Wade for the final middle relief spot.

Boone LoganRomulo SanchezLuis Ayala are also scheduled to pitch for the Yankees.

You can listen to the game on WDAE 620 AM, or follow along with MLB Gameday. The game is an evening start (7:05 PM), but will likely not be televised.
