While college March Madness is just getting started, the Florida high school basketball championship season is well underway. Many of the women's basketball championships are finished already - with Tampa Catholic winning the Class 3A state championship last Thursday and Lakewood winning the Class 4A championship Thursday - and the men's championships are just getting started.
Over the next couple of days, each of the six men's Classes (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 6A) will have their semi-final matches and championships. There are multiple storylines to follow in each class: Winter Park is the defending 6A champs, Dwyer (4A) is a nationally-ranked team, and Tampa Catholic (3A) could be the first Hillsborough County team to win a state championship is 16 years.
