One of the better shows each year on HBO is "Hard Knocks," an inside look at training camp for one of the 32 NFL teams. The show highlights training camp and gives you an inside look at the day to day grind of mid-summer football. Hard Knocks has featured the Ravens, Bengals and Jets and now, assuming there is a season, it looks like NFL Films and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in talks to feature the NFC South team in the 2011 version of the show. Of course, this is all pending the 2011 season actually happens.
↵While some people will surely criticize the Bucs for taking part in a media-hyped show, this is probably a move the Bucs need to make. Outside of the Tampa area, no one really cares about the Bucs. Heck, no one really ever thinks about the Bucs. While Hard Knocks won't make pewter pirate supporters out of the rest of the nation, it will at least put a temporary spotlight on a young talented team. For all those Bengals haters and anti-Jets fans, there were still some intriguing story lines and personal stories to follow, something I hope they can duplicate with the Bucs.
