SEC Football Schedule: 2011 Season Kicks Off On Sept. 1

The SEC's 2011 football schedule has been released, with the season starting Sept. 1 as Western Kentucky takes on Kentucky at LP Field in Nashville. The opening weekend continues Sept. 3 with three more huge games: Georgia hosts Boise State at the Georgia Dome, LSU battling Oregon at Cowboys Stadium, and Ole Miss duking it out against Brigham Young.

The season continues over the next 13 weeks, concluding on Dec. 3 with the SEC Championship Game, held at the Georgia Dome. CBS will broadcast that contest at 4 PM Eastern.

The Florida Gators' season opens Sept. 3 against Florida Atlantic, but they won't have their first conference battle for two weeks after that, when Tennessee visits The Swamp. October is an unkind month for the Gators, who face stiff competition that month with visits to LSU (Oct. 8) and 2010 SEC Champion Auburn (Oct. 15), as well as a home date against Alabama (Oct. 1) and a neutral-site game versus Georgia in Jacksonville Municipal Stadium (Oct. 29).
