Match Report: FC Tampa Bay Wins 3-0 Over UCF

The Rowdies traveled to Orlando to take on the UCF Golden Knights on Sunday in their third-to-last preseason match of the year. After a shutout win against Florida Gulf Coast last week the club was aiming to start their first winning streak of the season and succeeded by holding onto the ball throughout the game and making good on the scoring chances that they had.

In the 38th minute Aaron King played along the left-hand side with Pascal Millien who dribbled around the UCF defense to slot in a nice goal giving the Rowdies the lead 1-0. The goal was Millien’s second of the preseason.

After the half the Rowdies continued to have the possession advantage and was able to convert on a Chad Burt shot that went right through the keeper in the 77th minute to extend the lead to 2-0.

In the 86th minute Pascal Millien was pulled down whilst trying to head in a cross and was awarded a penalty shot. He drilled it into the top-right corner giving his side a 3-0 advantage, which would hold until full time was called.

Tampa Bay continues their preseason mid-week against St. Leo University on the Azalea Youth Soccer Fields Wednesday at 7:30. Their final match (before the meaningful games begin) will be next Sunday at 7 at the University of South Florida. All that is certain about that match is that there will be plenty of yellow and green in the stands.

Scoring Summary:
FCTB: Millien (assist by King) – 38’
FCTB: Burt (assist by Gyorio) – 77’
FCTB: Millien – penalty kick – 86’
