After utilizing assistant coach David Hayes at the defensive end of the pitch the last couple of games, the Rowdies needed desperately to find and sign some defensive talent before the season gets underway in 2 weeks. They think they filled that need by signing Palestinian defender Omar Jarun. Jarun returns to the states after spending 2 seasons in the Polish First league. Prior to his time in Poland, Jarun played for the Atlanta Silverbacks in 2006 and 2007, and was on the championship-winning Vancouver Whitecaps team of 2008 (they were in the USL at the time).

FC Tampa Bay also adds some depth on the offensive end by adding 2 more forwards to the team. Warren Ukah played with NSC Minnesota last season and the Rochester Rhinos in 2009. They have also signed trialist Matt Claire to the squad this season. Claire played for the West Virginia Chaos in 2008, scoring two goals in eight games and he appeared in 10 matches with the Bradenton Academics and tallied one goal in 2009.
