6A Championship: Winter Park Beats Dr. Phillips (Orlando) 52-44
There were some upsets in this tournament, such as Summit Christian beating the high scoring Grandview team in the 1A championship, but there were also plenty of instances of dominating teams continuing to dominate. Notably, nationally-ranked Dwyer rolled over Lake Wales in the Class 5A championship, Winter Park beat Dr. Phillips in the Class 6A title for the second season in a row, and Rickards won their second consecutive Class 3A title.
These victories mark the first state championships for two teams: Summit Christian (1A) and Sagemont (2A). This is also the first state championship for Leesburg (3A) since 1977.
