Tampa Bay Storm Trail Philadelphia Soul 28-26 At Halftime

Two Kyle Chilton missed extra points are the difference in the first half, as the Tampa Bay Storm trail the Philadelphia Storm 28-26 at halftime at the Wells Fargo Center. Rookie quarterback Grant Gregory had the best half of his career, going 12-16 for 90 yards and four touchdowns in the first half, with two going to Hank Edwards and one each to Amarri Jackson and Huey Whittaker.

The Soul have been led by QB Ryan Vena, who went 10-15 for 120 yards and a touchdown to go along with two rushing touchdowns. Vena kicked off the scoring in the first with a 7 yard touchdown, and his 37 yard touchdown pass to Donovan Morgan gave the Soul a 14-7 lead which the Soul have not given back yet.

Tampa Bay had a surprise on-side kick come back to hurt them as Tanner Varner picked up the loose ball and scored to give Philadelphia a 28-20 lead. An Amarri Jackson 9-yard TD catch had the Storm poised to go into the lockerroom only down one, but Chilton’s PAT was blocked and the Storm will have to battle back in the 2nd half to earn their 2nd win of the season.
