A late winner gave FC Tampa Bay its first win of the season last weekend, and tonight the club tries to make it two straight. FC Tampa Bay hosts the champion of the 2010 USSF Second Division, the Puerto Rico Islanders, at 6:00 at Al Lang Stadium in Saint Petersburg.
This is the first of four meetings between the two clubs this season. Puerto Rico also won its first match against the Carolina Railhawks 2-1 with goals from Joshua Hansen and Jay Needham. FC Tampa Bay will hope for more strong goalkeeping from Daryl Sattler, who had 8 saves in last week’s shutout. But the club will once again be without defender Andres Arango who is sitting out the second game of his two game suspension due to a red card he received last year.
The hero last week was midfielder Takuya Yamada who blasted a shot past the Montreal keeper to give FC Tampa Bay the lead in the 85th minute. Arango and FC Tampa Bay midfielder Jeremy Christie will be signing autographs on the concourse from 5:15 – 5:45 p.m.
