Tampa Bay Rays Vs. Toronto Blue Jays: Starting Lineups

Tonight's starting lineup for the Tampa Bay Rays, per Marc Topkin:

Sam Fuld LF
Johnny Damon DH
B.J. Upton CF
Felipe Lopez 3B
Sean Rodriguez 2B
Ben Zobrist RF
Dan Johnson 1B
Kelly Shoppach C
Elliot Johnson SS

Players to watch:

  • Sam Fuld has continuously hit well at the top of the order, going 2 for 5 in last night's loss the Chicago White Sox. At some point, the speedy outfielder aught to cool off, but until then the Rays have to be thankful for his production.
  • Johnny Damon is coming back from what was originally thought to be a bruised finger, but appears to be a micro-fracture. Hopefully his approach at the plate will not suffer from the nagging injury.
  • Ben Zobrist has hit more home runs this season than the same time last year, leading the team with three. Still, his offensive production leaves some to be desired. Hopefully he, Lopez, and Elliot -- the switch hitters in the lineup -- can provide a boost against the Jays lefty tonight.
