Halos Lead 3-1 After Seven

Jeremy Hellickson had a great outing, going 100 pitches and striking out 10. He surrendered six hits over 5.2 innings, including three runs credited. BJ Upton had his second homerun in as many days in the fifth off of the Angel's Dan Haren.

Adam Russell finished the sixth, but not before surrendering an additional run. Catcher Jeff Mathis shot a double to the warning track that went in and out of the glove of Matt Joyce allowing a man left on base by Hellickson to score, putting the halos up 3-1. Sam Fuld got on base with his second hit of the day on a double. He would manage to steal third but neither Jaso, Damon or Zobrist could bring him home.

Cesar Ramos pitched a scoreless top of the seventh, getting a double play to end the inning after a strikeout and a walk. Haren is still bringing his A-game in the seventh. He has allowed a mere three hits, although Upton almost homered off him for a second time. End of 7, the score remains 3-1.
