While the NHL Playoffs schedule for the Conference finals has not been set because the Western Conference series are still being wrapped up, the Lightning are already starting to make preparations for their Eastern Conference finals series against the Bruins. One of those adjustments they may have to make, is re-acclimating Simon Gagne back into the lineup, because according to Erik Erlendsson of Tampa Bay Online, Gagne expects to be ready to go when the Conference Finals start, whenever that may be.
"Skating with the team (Monday) felt pretty good, so that's a good sign," Gagne said. "We have plenty of time now, and we don't know exactly when we are going to play, but right now it's perfect timing to get in maybe three to five practices. I think we'll be good to go for Game 1.''
Gagne went down very early in the Lightning's sweep of the Capitals, and missed the rest of the series Even without him, the Lightning were able to generate a pretty good amount of offense. Bringing him back into the fold would be a great addition as the Lightning play for a spot in the Stanley Cup Finals.
