Rays Vs. Tigers: After 2.1 Innings, The Rain Wins Out

The Rays game has gone into rain delay in the top of the third inning and looks unlikely to resume. The Rays may be quietly hoping the rain holds, which would end the game and force a make-up contest at a later date.

The Rays are already down 2 runs as Andy Sonnanstine has allowed 6 hits in the early going. Sonny has struggled with his command this year and is not looking good in his 4th start. The umpires stopped the action with one out and another runner already on base.

Right now, the Rays are ice cold and should have a much better roster in the coming months. If the game gets pushed back far enough, the team may be able to trot out a group featuring a hot Evan Longoria, young Desmond Jennings, and maybe up-and-coming Alex Cobb.

Until then, though, the Rays will be hoping for rain.
