The Tampa Bay Rays and Milwaukee Brewers split the first two games of their series -- with the Brewers winning last night's game 5-1 -- and now they face off today with a series victory on the line.
David Price (3.61 ERA, 3.00 FIP) takes the hill for the Rays, and they have to hope that he bounces back after walking five batters in his most recent start. His opponent, Shaun Marcum, has put up great numbers so far this year (2.85 ERA, 3.05 FIP), but he's dealing with a hip injury at the moment and may not last long in tonight's game. The Brewers are going to take it inning by inning with him, and may pull him early if need be.
The Rays are currently 4.5 games behind the Red Sox and 3.5 games behind the Yankees, although they are in sole possession of second place for the Wild Card. The Brewers are in a close division race, up only a half game over the Cardinals, but the Cards face Roy Halladay and the Phillies today. They should be able to spare a loss, right?
