Heading into the final series of the year the Tampa Bay Rays are just one game behind the Boston Red Sox for the A.L. Wild Card lead, a feat that was almost incomprehensible just about a month ago. They each have three games left in the year and the Red Sox have the far easier series. They head to Baltimore for three games while the Rays have to face the Division leading Yankees.

Here is what the Rays have on their side. They will be playing at home for those three games which should be an advantage if their crowd can provide it. Also, the Yankees have had the division locked up for a while now so they might be resting some of their regular starters and trying to line up their rotation for the post season. Meanwhile, the Red Sox will be facing a team that they have had problems with recently and that isn't playing for anything other than to ruin Boston's season.

We'll be following the standings, well, as long as they are relevant, in this Stream. For more on the Rays, head over to DRaysBay. For more on the Sox, check out Over The Monster.
