For The Lulz: Florida State Seminoles Host Charleston Southern

FSU looks to boost their ego another week before #1 Oklahoma.

The #5 Florida State Seminoles (1-0) face Charleston Southern (0-1) at home this week. CSU is from the Big South conference and won three games last year, so the Noles are still just practicing.

If the Nole's week one 34-0 shellacking of Louisiana-Monroe wasn't enough to whet your chops, the Charleston Southern Buccaneers lost to the UCF Knights 62-0 in their first game last week. If there is a mercy rule in college football, you may see it Saturday.

In all seriousness, look for QB E.J. Manuel to continue exploring his options at receiver. The young offense used ten receivers last week, combining for 280 yards. The Noles were 22 of 34 in the air with 2 TDs for Manuel. The back up Clint Trickett saw action as well, connecting with freshman Rashad Greene for 28 yards and a touchdown on his first pass as a college quarterback.

The stellar defense held up well last week. The closest ULM got to the red zone was the 28 yard line in the fourth. In the first half, the Warhawks reached FSU territory once, the 44 yard line.

Chris Thompson led the running game with 33 yards on six carries and Florida State only ran for 92 yards. That's not the best. Look for the Noles to step up the running game this week to round out the offense as well.

Game Time is at 6:00 pm, September 10 and will be featured on ESPN3.com
