The University of Miami could get a big addition to their recruiting class in the form of Tracy Howard, one of the top ranked defensive backs in the Nation. According to the Florida Sun-Sentinel, Howard will visit the Hurricanes and coach Al Golden.
Howard said about UM coach Al Golden: "He is very passionate. He really wants to win a championship and he wants to do it with guys from South Florida, and I believe him."
He said factoring in his decision will be whether he likes the college campus after he "takes the coaches out of it." He said it comes down to "if you want to be there or not." And he said he'll consider what players he will be suiting up with.
Howard is the exact type of player that Miami was bringing in on a regular basis when they were at their height. Retaining the best players in the state is the best way to get back there.
We'll have plenty more on this situation as it develops, but for more on recruiting and all things Miami football, please head over to The 7th Floor, SB Nation's Hurricanes blog.
