Jim Larranaga has only been the head coach of the Miami Hurricanes for a few months, but he has already made a pretty good impression on the University. They already know that they want him to be the head coach there for a long time, and rewarded him with a three-year contract extension through the 2019 season on Friday. Here is a statement from coach Larranaga, courtesy of Steve Gorten of the Sentinel.

"My staff and I are very happy to be a part of the Miami Athletic Department family. There is such a great athletic foundation here," Larranaga, who is scheduled to meet with the media at noon, said in a statement. "We are also very excited about competing in the ACC against some of the best basketball programs in the country. I'm thrilled with this three-year extension and the commitment it shows to our program. My staff and I are confident we can build the type of program that will be a source of pride for the entire University."

The Hurricanes are 11-7 so far on the young season, including a 2-3 record in the ACC.
