Earlier it was reported that FIU head coach Mario Cristobal would be leaving to take the head coaching position at Rutgers. Apparently, Cristobal has had a change of heart and will not take the Rutgers job and remain at FIU, according to a report by Pete Thamel of the New York Times.

Cristobal has been the head coach of FIU since 2006, but has a history coaching the Rutgers Scarlett Knights. From 2001 to 2003, Cristobal was the offensive line coach for Rutgers. Greg Schiano, the former Rutgers coach, took a head coaching position in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As it stands right now, it looks like the Rutgers coaching position is still open and Cristobal will stay with FIU.
