Orange Bowl 2012 Score Update: West Virginia Dominating Clemson, 49-20 At Halftime

The first quarter of the 2012 Orange Bowl featured a plethora of scoring and the second quarter was no different. There were a combined 31 points scored in the first quarter followed by a combined 38 points scored in the second quarter. The difference in the second quarter however was that West Virginia scored 35 of the 38 points. The Mountaineers took an early 21-17 lead in the second quarter, but the Clemson Tigers looked like they were about to re-take the lead before this happened...

Darwin Cook picked up the Andre Ellington fumble and sprinted 99 yards for the touchdown, putting the Mountaineers up 28-17. The Clemson implosion followed shortly after picking up a field goal to put the game at 28-20, turning the ball over and allowing three straight touchdowns by the Mountaineers. The Mountaineers closed out the first half scoring the fifth touchdown of the day, taking a 49-20 lead into halftime.
