The Florida Gators headed up to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Volunteers hoping to pick up their first SEC game of the season and also hoping to pick up their first road game of the season. The Gators left Knoxville without doing either of those, falling to the Volunteers 67-56. The Gators defense just couldn't slow down the Volunteers on offense.
The Volunteers had four players score in double digits on the day, including 10 points by Jordan McRae off the bench. Kenny Boynton and Erik Murphy led the Gators in scoring in the loss, both picking up 13 points. Patrick Young also added 12 points and seven rebounds on the day. With the loss, the Gators fall to 12-4 on the season and 0-1 in the SEC.
