Luiz Cane once was seen as a fast riser in the Light Heavyweight division, but three loses in four fights derailed any title hopes he had in that division. Cane traines out of the Armory Gym in Jupiter, Florida and it was hoped that a drop to Middleweight would change his fortune. Ironically greeting Cane at Middleweight was Chris Camozzi, one of the biggest Middleweights on the UFC roster. Cane looked good early, using his footwork to get excellent angles for strikes, but as the fight wore on Camozzi slowly took command of the fight with both striking and grappling. In the end Camozzi was awarded a 29-28 decision, likely being awarded the last two rounds.
American Top Team's Glesion Tiabu was able to earn the win over fellow Brazilian Francisco Trinaldo. Tiabu used grappling to win the first round, but in the second round Trinaldo rocked Tiabu with a punch and followed him to the ground. There Trinaldo came very close to finishing a choke, but Tiabu was able to survive. They headed into the third one with a round each, and Tiabu was able to use powerful takedowns and top position to earn the decision.
