SEC Football Standings 2012: Undefeated Florida maintains top spot

The No. 2 ranked Florida Gators remain atop the SEC football standings, after their complete dismantling of South Carolina

Kim Klement-US PRESSWIRE

After dismantling conference foe South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday, the No. 2 ranked Florida Gators remained undefeated in conference play as well as overall on the season, meaning the team also leads the SEC standings.

While the Gators control their destiny right now, the team will need to prepare to host the Georgia Bulldogs, who will be in town on Saturday, Oct. 27. The outcome of that game could significantly change Florida's outlook on the season, for better or worse.

The Alabama Crimson Tide also remained undefeated following this past week's slate of games, but they do not have sole possession of first place in the SEC West since the Mississippi St. Bulldogs also find themselves 7-0 on the season.

On the other end, four teams remain win-less in conference play, including three teams that reside in the SEC East. All of the teams do have at least one win on the season, though.
