The Tampa Bay Bucs have had to adjust their schedule in advance of their Thursday night game against the Minnesota Vikings. Having just come off a 35-28 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, the Bucs have had to abbreviate their preparation to accommodate the shorter week. Tampa Bay didn't practice on Monday and only had a light workout on Tuesday, according to the Tampa-Bay Times. They planned to head to Minnesota on Wednesday.
Tampa coach Greg Schiano sounded less-than-thrilled with the quick turnaround.
"You sit there and say it’s the same (for both teams)," Schiano said. "Well, it’s not exactly the same because we have to travel. But that’s life. We’ll have a Thursday night game in the future where the other team’s got to travel. The reality is none of that matters."
Tampa's coaching staff immediately went into game preparation mode following Sunday's outing against New Orleans. Typically, that time of preparation would begin on Monday, according to the Times. Still, Schiano sounded more concerned about the health than the preparation of his players.
"I think the key is you have to be sure your guys are physically able to perform," he said.
