The Florida Atlantic Owls secured only their second win of the season on Saturday, knocking off the Troy Trojans, 34-27, at home at FAU Football Stadium.
FAU led 17-0 late in the second quarter, before the Trojans scored the next 17 points to tie it heading into halftime. Troy then took a late 27-26 lead with 1:49 remaining in the game before Owls quarterback Graham Wilbert was able to march his team down the field on a 9-play, 74-yard drive, culminating in a 22-yard touchdown pass to William Dukes for the go-ahead score.
The Owls were led by Wilbert's 261 yards passing and four touchdowns. Running back Jonathan Wallace had a workhorse kind of afternoon with 87 yards on 24 carries. Trojans quarterback Corey Robinson put up 211 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the loss.
The win moved the Owls to 2-6 overall, 1-4 in the Sun Belt Conference and dropped the Trojans to 4-4 overall, 3-3 in the Sun Belt.
