UFC on FX 5 Results: Michael Johnson Wins with Dramatic Comeback Knockout

Florida area fighter Michael Johnson got things going early on the undercard of UFC on FX 5 with a dramatic knockout win.

Joe Camporeale-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Michael Johnson came into UFC on FX 5 an underdog against Danny Castillo, a long time veteran of MMA and the UFC. Johnson made his UFC debut in the finals of the 12th season of The Ultimate Fighter, and lost to Orlando native Johnthan Brookins. Johnson has had an up and down UFC career, but has settle in Florida with the Blackzilians camp. Since then former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rahsad Evans has sung his praises, predicting great things for the still young Johnson.

Heading into this fight Johnson's prospects in the UFC were lukewarm at best, coming in off tepid decision wins over lower tier lightweights and it was expected that Danny Castillo would roll over the younger fighter. And in the first round everything seemed to be going to script as Castillo knocked Johnson down with a punch, mounted him and came very close to finishing an arm triangle choke.

But Johnson survived and then early in the second round landed a punch that sent Castillo sprawling and followed up with some powerful ground and pound to finish the fight. This is now Johnson's third win in a row and the second knockout of Johnson's MMA career.
