Antonio Silva got a huge knock out win over Travis Browne. Silva, fighting out of Coconut Creek Florida, was able to land big strikes and drop Browne to the mat. Coming into the match many though Browne would be able to use his speed to run circles around the plodding Silva. It looked like Browne hurt his knee throwing a head kick, and after that the Hawaiian seemed to panic. Silva was able to take advantage of Browne dropping his hands and score a big punch that dropped Browne to the mat. This is Silva's first win inside the UFC and puts him back into that upper tier of the Heavyweight division.
The two other American Top Team fighters in action tonight did not fare nearly as well. Carlo Prater lost a split decision against very strong wrestler Marcus LeVesseur on the undercard of the UFC on FX 5.
Florida and American Top Team new comer, Brett Rogers also suffered a decision loss as Russian Kyokushin Karate fighter Alexander Volkov put a one sided beating on Rogers. Coming into this fight Rogers predicted an easy victory, and he was half right, as this was a very easy win, for Volkov. Many in the media, including myself, gave Volkov all three rounds, the last two 10-8, as Rogers did next to nothing outside a few uppercuts in the first round.

Rogers did not implement the game plan as his corner begged him to go for takedowns, and looked as if he had mentally given up after part way through the first round. Rogers looked awful in this fight and any chance of him being a Top 20 Heavyweight was well and truly dispelled tonight.
Outside American Top Team, John Dodson of Jackson's MMA got a huge win and punched his ticket to a UFC Flyweight Title fight. After a feeling out round against Jussier da Silva, Dodson landed a huge left hand that left the Brazilian stunned. Dodson was able to pounce and secure the TKO win and the the title shot.
